24th of February, 2022:

In view of the dramatic events in Ukraine, the university management is shocked. Prof. Dr. Sebastian Schröer-Werner, Rector of the EHB: "With horror we take note of the beginning of a war on European soil. Our solidarity is with the people in Ukraine. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people, their families and friends. As the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Berlin, we call for an immediate end to all hostilities and respect for international law."

HRK Statement:

The President of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK), Professor Dr. Peter-André Alt, strongly condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine: "This is a deeply depressing day. Our solidarity goes out to the entire Ukrainian population and especially to our higher education partners. We are very concerned about the lives and well-being of Ukrainian scientists and students. The German universities will support them within the scope of their possibilities. It is also foreseeable that these developments will cause serious damage to German-Russian academic relations. We will have to examine the consequences in detail."
